It’s also Supercharged 3800 swapped but this is the only part I care about.

First and only cool impala since 96 (or 69 depending how old your school is)

The high school I went to is over 100 years old.

I burned down the school that was there before they built the old school.

Other than it being the worst w body car, I can see the appeal, would’ve been better to start with one of the nicer wbodys anyway like the Gran Prix gt or aurora or even the streched g platform

It’s a fat, terrible, fwd sedan. You can make it fast, sure, but it doesn’t make it any less of a piece of shit. The only cars that were worse than our 2005 Impala we had growing up, were our Volvo 240's and 740.

That’s exactly why I like it.

Where does one source a fwd manual GM trans that will not grenade itself at the business end of a 3800SC?

Because an otherwise staid, boring family sedan turned into a faster, manual-swapped family sedan is always fun.
Like that 1996 Fleetwood with the Corvette 6-speed and LT1: https://bringatrailer.com/2017/05/24/brougham-brawler-3836-speed-swapped-1996-cadillac-fleetwood/

I guess. Beyond that and the HHR SS, I can’t think of any “powerful” manual fwd cars in GM‘s recent history, let alone anything larger than the Grand Am.

I’m more surprised by the existence of that center console.

It was an option on the higher trim LS and standard on SS.

I think 99% of Impalas of that gen sold were base model, which explains why I’ve never seen that before.

You say that like fat, terrible FWD cars can’t be fun to drive.

I learned to drive in an ex-rental 2004 base Impala. I 100% approve of this statement.
